Gadget Labs App ("we", "us") makes a building game for kids. We care about protecting children's privacy, and we designed Gadget Labs App to collect as little information as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- An anonymous player ID. When the game starts, it creates a random ID so your progress can be saved. It is not linked to your name or email.
- Game progress. Coins, parts, gadgets built and sold, level, XP, daily streak and tournament entries, stored with the anonymous ID.
- A made-up display name. The game assigns a fun random name (for example "BrightRobot42") for leaderboards. Players cannot type in their own name.
- Invite codes. Each player gets a random invite code. If a player enters a friend's code, we record that link so both players can receive coins. Only made-up display names are shown.
- Optional video ads. When a player chooses to watch a video ad for coins, Google AdMob shows the ad. We tell AdMob that the app is directed to children, so ads are limited to family-safe (rated G), non-personalized ads. AdMob may process device and technical information (such as IP address and device type) to deliver the ad, measure it and prevent fraud. We do not ask for permission to track you and do not use the advertising identifier.
- Basic technical data. Our service providers may process device type, OS version and crash information needed to run the game reliably.
How we use information
- To save and restore game progress
- To run game features such as daily rewards and tournaments
- To give coins for watched videos and accepted invites
- To fix bugs and keep the game secure
We do not sell personal information or use it for personalized advertising or profiling. Video ads are only shown when a player taps to watch one.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the game. They only process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — anonymous sign-in, game data storage and server functions
- Google AdMob — optional rewarded video ads, configured as child-directed and non-personalized (how Google uses information)
- Apple — App Store downloads
Children's privacy
Gadget Labs App is designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game is built so a child does not need to provide any. There are no purchases in the game. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and deletion
Game data is kept while the game is in use. A parent or player can ask us to delete a player's game data at any time by emailing us. Deleting the app from the device removes the local link to the anonymous account.
Security
Game data is stored with Google Firebase using encryption in transit, and access is restricted by security rules so players can only read their own data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version on this page.
